Colleen Auchenbach

DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

After being raised in a chiropractic family, Dr. Colleen Auchenbach decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and attend Cleveland Chiropractic College where she graduated Cum Laude in December 1998. She immediately joined a busy family practice and enjoyed practicing chiropractic for over 20 years.

Due to the increase in regulations in healthcare and the need to stay on top of all things related to chiropractic documentation and coding, she completed the 100-hour Insurance Consultant/Peer Review certification in 2015 through Logan University College of Chiropractic. Dr. Colleen continued her training by successfully completing the Medical Compliance Specialist Physician (MCS-P) course, becoming certified in 2016. In addition, she completed the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) course and became a Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) in 2022 as well as a Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) in 2024

In November 2020, she joined the KMC University team as a Documentation Specialist. Because of her time in patient care as an associate doctor in a large practice, she understands the need for accurate, up to date information regarding documentation, coding, billing, and compliance. One of Dr. Colleen’s goals is to contribute to the chiropractic profession by supporting doctors through the journey of lowering their risk by implementing compliant practices allowing them to concentrate on providing excellent chiropractic care to their patients.

Dr. Colleen lives in Florida with her wonderful family and is enjoying lifelong dreams of living by the ocean!

I am writing in regards to the KMC Compliance program my office signed up for. At first, I thought it would just be a program to look at our office and make sure we were doing things correctly, but as the meetings went on I realized the KMC program provided a ton of information at my fingertips. I have worked in chiropractic offices for 12 years (and currently work in two), and this is the first time I finally felt like I was receiving the answers to 'grey area' questions I've had for quite some time. I absolutely love the training videos, and the one on one meetings with you were greatly appreciated. We got knowledgeable and personalized answers based on our practices needs. I highly recommend this program to any practice considering it, having doctors and staff trained in this is an absolute necessity if that practice is accepting insurances. Thank you for all your help with making sure our office is compliant and has the knowledge to continue dealing with all the rules and regulations of very confusing insurance policies.
