There were three phases of HIPAA installation that included HIPAA Privacy, HIPAA Security, and the HIPAA Omnibus Final rules. These federal requirements are administered through the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and The Office of Civil Rights (OCR) This lesson provides a high-level overview of the HIPAA program that all healthcare providers are required to implement and maintain.
